#HealthyEating 101: Guidelines for Choosing Healthy Foods

You have to make a conscious effort to eat healthy everytime. The following guidelines will help you identify and pick good, nutritious, high-quality and healthy foods. 

Buy and eat fresh foods. If you have a choice between fresh and packaged foods, pick fresh foods.  

Choose organic foods. That is foods grown from the soil without pesticides and chemical fertilizers.

Eat 100% natural foods that are not genetically engineered or modified. If the food came from a plant, it is safe and healthy for consumption. If it is made in a factory, chances are it is not safe.  

Buy foods that do not contain dyes, colours, preservatives and artificial sweeteners. These artificial substances do more harm than good to the body. 

Your poultry and dairy foods should not contain any growth hormone, chemical or antibiotics.
